GarageBand Blues Technology Infused General music

This music lesson plan is perfect for younger music students. It starts off with the book "Freddie the Frog and the Secret of Crater Island", which teaches kids the basic concepts of jazz- style music.
Next, kids head onto their iPads, and go onto the GarageBand App.
GarageBand has "smart instruments" that kids can choose, and play by touching the screen, applying the chord progressions they just learned in reading.
Kids can start to form their own jazz bands with different instruments and even incorporate singing.
This is a great way to get young students interested in jazz music before even touching a real instrument. And makes the idea fun with the use of technology.
