Teams March Week 2

Hey gang, I love this image. What is particular to it ?

  • The whistle?
  • All the same helmet?
  • The serious look?!
  • You don't know them?
  • the players are teenagers?
  • NOPE!!!! That ain't it. Let me give you a few hints.

I coached when I was younger

  • I was a soccer coach for a U12 (under 12 years old) team that won the Quebec championship
  • I coached our college volleyball team
  • I even coached and lead our waterskiing team at a summer camp I worked when I was a young adult!
  • I also coached the punter on our High School football team

All of these coaching experiences, there is one common denominator.

I didn't wear the uniform as a coach; I wasn't a player. I was a coach.

The coach doesn't play. He coaches. He teaches the captain (our Team leaders) and the players how to play. A coach is there to help you play better.

I was part of the team, for sure. But the actual playing part, I was not part of. The players were. Players play. Coaches coach.

God gave the Body some the gifts. He did it so that they might prepare God's people to serve. Psalm 110:3

As a team mate, you need to focus on practicing what your coach and team leader equipped you to do with in order to play the game on Sunday. And you know, your coach is there to help you become a better player!

Worth Fighting For

We all encounter conflicts in relationships at home, at work, and at school. Most conflicts start because of unmet expectations. If we choose to act not react, choose to focus on the good in the other person, and choose to stay, our conflicts can be resolved in life-giving, loving way.

Your growth depends on how deep you commit to growing! So dig deeper.
  • March 12th - VO @ 8:30 & 4pm Invite someone to join your team!
  • March 26th - Family Dedication Service 2:30-3:30 PM
Easter is coming.

It will be great. Tons of people have been becoming fully alive and committing their lives to Christ. This is a time for us to be a blessing and be blessed at the same time!

  • Saturday 6PM
  • Sunday 8, 9:30, 11:30 AM. 1:30, 3:00 and 5PM.

Let's get rolling teams!

Learn something from your Team leader or Coach this week.
  • Pst Shawn and Jennifer will have baby Samuel this week . Pray for them.
  • We've added many new families to our campus lately. Pray they get connected soon.
  • Courtnie Wolfe (Quest) is getting married with John on April 1st. Pray for them in those final details that need to be managed!
  • Evelyn Hoyle-Steele (TREK) has undergone surgery. Let's praise God, she is back, serving passionately in TREK!
  • Let's pray for FUTURE NEW VOLUNTEERS!
Be on time!

Specifics in environments

My desire, and the church's also, is that everybody be a healthy leader in your ministry.

In order to better assess where and how many "real" volunteers we have, i will ask each environment to fill out a new document on Sundays.

It's basically a "roster" document. Teammates (you included!), just need to write their names down and check how many services they ministered. Simple. Efficient.

5PM teams: we have a new thing

Every week, we have some material that goes to garbage at the end of service

  • empty or empty water bottles
  • every piece of paper that is not reusable (lesson scripts, small/large groups script, extra craft stuff, etc)
  • Extra weekly handouts

Every week, we have some material NEEDS to come back to me at the end of service

This page is in your folder in EACH environment. Here's what to do whit it

  • Look for the noted material
  • Bring it back to the Production area in the Quest theaters.
  • There, you will find a small plastic bin where it is noted "Recyclable"
  • Put it in there.
  • Check the list :)
  • And thanks for doing this.

For your convenience, you can check in at any echeck station from now on. It will simplify everything :)

  • SMALL GROUP: Small group is a great time for you to connect with our bunch. Take that time to do just that: connect!
  • Make sure you take time to pray with with the kids

  • Make sure your rooms are clean when you leave. Another group is coming after you
  • When you starts your service experience, make sure you use the "intro" document so can ease in the topic of the day for our younger ones.

  • Make sure you keep ALL MATERIAL available for the 5PM team
  • Keep it up!

  • As a reminder, challenge our kids to keep pushing themselves during the week by using YouVersion
  • As team mates of that group, have an attitude of worship when you join Quest 2-3 in the theater. They will follow your lead. Participate. I should see and hear you singing and having fun

These need to be given away EVERY WEEK!

  • You guys have been adding up some crazy numbers on Sunday mornings.
  • Keep getting there on time, it's a way you show Honor to your teammates, the kids and their parents
  • Make sure your rooms are clean when you leave. Another group is coming after you.
  • Keep on loving these babies.
  • Snacks are now put in every room instead of being centrally stacked
  • Try to memorize some parents' names this week
This is where you should park on Sundays!

Daily devotionals

How is quiet time going right now ?

Honor is not only about words, it's about actions
  1. Let's honor every single one of our teammates by cleaning up our area after your done serving.
  2. We also honor by being on time at VIPs!

Pastor's message on unity was awesome.

According to Philippians 2:1-2, we, you, move in "UNITY" when...
  • We're being like-minded : we're all for the same thing, which is helping people become fully alive, adults and kids alike.
  • We're having the same love for one another : we care for each other
  • We're being one in spirit: friendship are developed
  • We're being one mind: one purpose
And we are in "DISUNITY" when...
  • You are pushing against God-given momentum.
  • You have negative attitudes towards change or ministry load
  • You lack rejoicing when thinking of new people becoming fully alive
  • You push against the movement of God by resisting it
  • You move in the wrong direction ( not going with the "flow")
  • You don't move or refuse to move. You are not "pulling your weight "
Having said this
  • Let's join full heartedly in our Sunday morning mission:
  • Let's address the heart issue of disunity, with grace and truth
  • Be proactive on Sundays. Talk to kids, not your cell phone or team mates! Pick up the stuff that needs to be picked up
  • Be a talker to parents, by telling them a great thing their kid learned or how well he behaved
The things you have heard me say, entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.
  1. Recruit 30 NEW volunteers by March 31st . We're close to that right now!
  2. Talk to 1 parent per service, every week. Many will join the team!
  3. Be welcoming when new team mates join your team!
