Emerson Women's Basketball 2019-2020 Preview

Emerson finished the 2018-2019 regular season with a 17-9 record, going 11-5 in conference games.

The Lions 11-5 record earned them the No. 5 seed in the NEWMAC playoffs. The Lions fell to the No. seeded MIT Engineers in the Quarterfinals, 76-58.

The Lions return three senior guards to the team, Natalie Clydesdale, Quinn Madden, and Kate Foultz.

Clydesdale - Started 19 of 24 games played. 8.8 PPG, 6.9 RPG, 1.8 Steals Per Game

Madden - Started 25 of 26 games played. 8.2 PPG, 5.0 RPG, 1.5 APG

Foultz - Played in 25 Games, 6.1 PPG, 2.8 APG, 2.7 RPG

The Lions have been ranked No. 4 in the NEWMAC Preseason Coaches' Poll for the 2019-2020 season.

Springfield, Babson, and MIT come ahead of the Lions at numbers one, two, and three respectively.

The Lions open up their season on Tuesday, Novem,ber 12th when they travel across the Boston Common to take on the Suffolk Rams at 7:00pm.

Emerson will open up its home schedule just two days later when they welcome the Gordon Fighting Scots for a non-conference tilt at Brown & Plofker Gym on November 14th, starting at 7:00pm.

The Lions packed week continues as they open up their conference schedule at home, which starts against the WPI ENgineers on Saturday, November 16th starting at 3:00pm.


The Lions will take part in two tournaments this year. The first will be at Wesleyan where they will play a conference game against Wellesley before finding out their opponent for the second day.

The Lions also take part in a New Years tournament, when they will travel to Puerto Rico on December 29th and 30th.
