Sedona 2019 Trip Report - Tom Bol Photo Workshops

Day 1 Cathedral Rock was our muse for the first day in Sedona. At first light we took the Easy Breezy Trail to photograph sun drenched spires from the slick rock shelves below.

That evening we photographed the opposite side of Cathedral Rock from Crescent Moon Park. The reflection ponds were plentiful near the vortex. We spread out and worked on creative images

We traveled to the tiny mining town of Jerome, Arizona on Day 2 to experience what was once called "the wickedest town in the West".

For our next stop in Jerome we headed to the Gold King Mine Ghost Town to photography old trucks and the remnants of the historic mining town.

While at the Gold King Mine, we used Elinchrom ELB 500 lights to illuminate our model Steve in front of the rusty backgrounds.
We spent an afternoon exploring the Chapel of the Holy Cross in beautiful rich sunlight. The oranges and blues at dusk made everything look good.

Day 4 For our final morning we photographed first light at Courthouse and Bell Rocks. We all watched as first light rolled through the landscape.
The combination of dramatic landscapes and macros of the ubiquitous agave gave everyone something to work on.
