The Vision November 06, 2019

Vol.51 No. 44

Ladies Lunch bunch is a casual time of reading through the Bible over the lunch hour while enjoying a light lunch. Women of all ages are invited to attend Lunch Bunch. Rachel Forrest leads the study each Wednesday beginning at 12:15-12:45 p.m. On December 4th, we will begin reading Lifeway’s Advent: The Weary World Rejoices. Our own, Rachel Forrest has contributed to the book. The study will help us understand why we celebrate it, and how it fuels our worship of Jesus. We will understand the anticipation and waiting the Old Testament world endured, the joy and new life signaled by the coming of Christ, and the way Advent points to the glory of God still to come. There will be a Advent-Preview on November 20th. Come and see if this study is something you’d like to be a part of. The book has 5 sessions to study. Your personal study should begin on December 1. The study will begin during Lunch Bunch on December 4th, 11th and 18th. Fuel your worship of Christ with a deeper understanding of Advent. Grasp God’s character and His work on behalf of His people, in the past and present, as a catalyst to a more intimate relationship with Him. Learn how to practically extend joy, hope, peace, and love to others during the holiday season. Contact Rachel Forrest if you have any questions. Books may be ordered through Lifeway.com $9.99 + tax + shipping or Amazon, com $12.99 + tax.

Please be in prayer how you might be able to help Eastern Heights Baptist Church reach the World Mission Offering Goal of $13,000.00 this year. All monies will need to be postmarked or dropped off by December 31 to be counted toward the 2019 giving. Below are the different missions we support at Eastern Heights and the percentages of offering given to each mission.
15% of the Mission Offering collected at Eastern Heights will go toward the Edna McMillian State Missions Offering. Together, as Oklahoma Baptists, we are meeting the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of our people. Every dollar we give through the SMO goes directly to missions and ministry efforts right here in Oklahoma. While every church cannot meet every need, every church can meet a need. Maybe it’s feeding one hungry child, perhaps it’s caring for one foster child, or ministering in a prison nearby. Through the Edna McMillan State Missions Offering, God has an open door for us to enter, shoulder by shoulder, to advance the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
25% of the Mission Offering collected at Eastern Heights will go toward the Annie Armstrong/NAMB (North American Missions Board) Offering. All of the gifts given to Annie Armstrong/NAMB Offering goes to train, resource and send thousands of missionaries involved in church planting and compassion ministries across the United States, Canada and their territories. Our partnership with Southern Baptist Convention churches and individuals makes this work possible.
60% of the Mission Offering collected at Eastern Heights will go toward the Lottie Moon/IMB (International Missions Board) Offering. Your generous gifts provide missionaries the services they need to live among the unreached peoples they serve. Services include housing, training, education and healthcare.
