The University of Florida Gators is one of the most perennial sports program in the country. The Gators football program enjoyed many great success, including three nationals and eight Southeastern Conference championships. Some of the great players like Danny Wuerffel, Tim Tebow among many, who had the opportunity to put on the orange and blue, did not come close to contributing to the winnings at the University of Florida, more than Steve Spurrier.

Florida Heisman trophy winners Tim Tebow (2007), Steve Spurrier (1966), and Danny Wuerffel (1996)

The new modernized design shoulder plate texture called the "Osteoderm" can be found on the body of an alligator. Its a bone like structure, which functions as a defensive armor. It brings alive the spirit of an alligator, while adding a murky and menacing gray, therefore maintaining a traditional varsity using the square bold lettering.
