From 1985 to last year, this area was once home to the Dumfries Neighborhood Library.
The new Dumfries Neighborhood Library opened on February 25th, 2017 in the Triangle Shopping Plaza in Dumfries, Virginia.
The new library contains wider space that can be easily accessed by visitors. Book shelves are immediately seen the moment a person enters.
New computers are setup in study areas and other sections for easier access .
New, automatic water fountains that can also fill-up water bottles as well.
The Prince William County Board of Supervisors signed a new ten-year lease on the new 3,840 square feet building. The BOCS will agree to pay $13.82 per square foot.
The new goal of the library to promote further diversity among the citizens in the City of Dumfries. One goal the library staff believes it can be accomplished with the newer space and community area.
One advantage the new library has is the City of Dumfries Police Department is across the parking lot.
The old library area is currently up for open lease.
