Spring Break 2017 New Orleans, LA

Stops on the way there!

Our first stop was about 5 1/2 hours into the trip. We stopped at Crater of Diamonds State Park, unfortunately we did not find any diamonds. Our second stop was another 2 hours later and that was at Duck Commander which is owned by the "Duck Dynasty" people. We toured the room where they make duck calls and just looked around. Our next stop would be New Orleans!

Our first day exploring New Orleans

First we made our way to Bourbon Street and roamed around in and out of shops. Next we walked a few streets over to Canal Street and shopped around there too. It was very entertaining to see street performers and people everywhere enjoying their vacation just like us!

I had to go get a prescription filled at this exact Walgreens on Canal Street for my shoulder. I was in terrible pain

Third day in New Orleans

First we went to the WWII museum for Matthew, which was fun, then for Eric we had to go to Smoothie King Center, Home of the New Orleans Pelicans, and the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, Home of the New Orleans Saints. Finally I got to go see the Tulane Hospital which is seen on TV in the series called "Nightwatch". I was very happy.

On the way home

While we were headed home on the fourth day, we had to stop at Gulfport Beach. I loved walking in the sand and feeling the ocean water on my feet. We were walking up to the pier as pictured above, and I had a bag of Chex Mix, I reached into the bag and threw some of it in the air for the birds. I don't know what I expected them to do but, the birds caught the food in the air. I was just so intrigued. So many birds and so close to us as well. It was a sight to see
