Michelle Obama


Michelle grew up on the South Side of Chicago to two hardworking parents who raised her and her older brother. She was raised in a family that values love and laughter, but with room for serious life lessons and hard work. After graduating, she went on to Princeton University where she studied sociology and African-American studies. She met her husband Barack Obama at a Chicago law firm that goes by the name of Sidley & Austin.

First Lady

Michelle has done a tremendous amount of work for our country. As first lady, she has focused on current social issues, such as poverty, healthy living and education. She has used her fame and power as first lady in a positive way to improve the lives of Americans. Michelle has lead many campaigns dedicated to the health of Americans, below are some examples and how she has left an impact on our country.

"In the end, as First Lady, this isn’t just a policy issue for me. This is a passion. This is my mission. I am determined to work with folks across this country to change the way a generation of kids thinks about food and nutrition."

The five pillars of Michelle's Let’s Move! initiative:

1. Creating a healthy start for children

2. Empowering parents and caregivers

3. Providing healthy food in schools

4. Improving access to healthy, affordable foods

5. Increasing physical activity


We believe an influential person is someone who leaves a permanent impact on large groups of people in a positive way. Although we have many influential people in our country, overall Michelle has done so much. She has dedicated her career to bettering the lives of the children in America. Michelle has been really focusing on what can be done to help our country in the future. She has left such a large impact with all of her campaigns. Michelle has been an incredible role model for all Americans and her legacy will truly last years and years past her husband's presidency. She has inspired young people, especially young women, across the nation and her mark will last lifetimes.
