GYMNASIUM KERAMOTIS - KAVALA - GREECE
"WATER SOURCES AND SANITATION"
21/27 FEBRUARY 2018
Keramoti High School, participating in the European Program Erasmus+ on “Water Sourses and Sanitation”, held the first LTTA (Learning, Teaching, Training Activities) meeting in Funchal (Madeira-Portugal),
from 21 to 27 February.
Five students of Keramoti High School (with 2 accompanying teachers) moved to the project, working with partners from Italy, Poland, Turkey and Portugal.
At the host school, children from the participating countries worked in groups focusing on "global warming and water resources" and after exchanging information and material, they discussed, sensitized and recorded their conclusions, and then presented the final results.
Experts from the region have come up with interesting and in-depth suggestions on water and its management issues.
Also, by voting for partners on the representative logo of the partnership, they chose among the many proposed the Greek logo, which will now symbolize and give identity to the project, throughout its implementation.
Special tours and tours of the island include: Monte Palace Garden, Cabo Girao Cape, Porto Moniz Natural Swimming Pools, Levada Caldeirao Verde, Santana Community, Balcoes de Ribeiro Frio Forest, Sao Vicente Caves, Volcanism Centre and a traditional rum factory - Porto da Cruz.
We would say that Madeira enchants and wins the visitor from the first moment. The contrasting images of the volcano, the towering mountains, the rich tropical forests and the beautiful beaches make up a unique landscape that rightly gives the characteristic of the world tourist destination on the island.
We would like to make special mention of the special hospitality that the hosts (Portuguese), have reserved to us, giving us unforgettable and unique moments.
Looking at a different aspect of the same project, the working groups gave their next appointment to Gdansk, Poland, in the third ten days of May.
