Tampa Bay Buccaneers Host Jr. Bucs Field Day

Held on May 17 at the AdventHealth Training Center, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers hosted over 600 kids from Hillsborough and Pinellas County Schools. The event, recognizing the most improved students in the Jr. Bucs Fitness Program that launched at the beginning of the 2018 season, included many diverse football activities such as throwing accuracy drills, catching drills and sprint relays. Bucs players Jordan Whitehead, Vita Vea and Caleb Benenoch all made appearances and played with the kids. Each kid and chaperone in attendance were treated to lunch and gift bags that included shirts and activity books.

Water Country USA hosts Inaugural Kids Triathlon

For the first time in event history, the Tampa Bay Kids Triathlon expanded into Williamsburg, VA to launch the Water Country USA Kids Triathlon (USA Kids Tri). Hosted by the Hampton Roads Sports Commission, in conjunction with Water Country USA, the USA Kids Tri offered youth athletes, experienced and first-timers alike, the unique opportunity to swim, bike and run in and around Water Country USA.

We created the Water Country USA Kids Triathlon with the goal of providing a fun, friendly, and welcoming competition for young athletes,” said Wes Hall Executive Director, Hampton Roads Sports Commission. “The smiles on the faces of our young athletes and their families during and after the race proved that we accomplished our mission and now our sights are set on a bigger and better event in 2020.

6th Annual Tampa Bay's Tailgate Taste Fest Wristbands on Sale

Tampa’s ultimate tailgate party is set for Saturday, October 5 at Downtown Tampa’s picturesque Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park. The event will be held from 3 – 10:30 pm and will include all the components for the perfect tailgate. Attendees will enjoy the day’s best college football matchups on two, large LED screens, live music, cold drinks and plenty of the best food from around Tampa Bay. Kids and adults alike will enjoy family-friendly activities in the Fan Zone, featuring activations from some of the area’s sports franchises.

This family and pet-friendly event is FREE to attend and open to the public. Attendees can sample some of the best food in Tampa from more than 15 local vendors. Food-Sample and VIT (Very Important Tailgater) Wristbands are available for purchase online now at TailgateTasteFest.com as well as on site the day of the event.

On April 6, Gavin DeGraw took center stage for the 2019 NCAA Women's Final Four Super Saturday Night Concert presented by AT&T. The event also included food trucks, two LED screens to view the NCAA Men's semi-final games, and a firework show to conclude the evening.

Just four days later, Curtis Hixon Park was flooded with hockey fans alike as the NHL kicked-off the Stanley Cup Playoffs with a free concert headlined by Cage the Elephant. The concert doubled as a watch party for the Tampa Bay Lightning vs. Columbus Blue Jackets playoff game.
