MUSE brought their Simulation Theory World Tour to San Diego and as usual it was a fantastic performance. This is the third time that MUSE has performed at the Arena since I have been the photographer. Each show has been unique and really entertaining.
I shot the show from the inside right corner of the soundboard (FOH) barricade. For the first two songs I stood on the small seat built in to the barricade allowing me to shoot over the heads of the enthusiast crowd. For the third song I relinquished my spot to one of the other photographers and shot from a slightly lower angle.
I used 3 cameras for this shoot, each with a different lens. I wanted to capture the wide full venue look, along with a tighter view of the stage. I also wanted to get as close as I could to the guys in the band. My gear for the shoot was a Nikon D750 + 24-70mm f/2.8, the Nikon D4 + 70-200mm f/2.8 and the Nikon D850 + 300mm f/4.
