Friday Afternoon Volleyball Practice

Staff were challenged to play a few quick games against our 7th and 8th grade volleyball teams. Our Smith Girls have been well prepared by their coaches Mrs. Brennan and Mr. Vigilant. Staff held their own, but were well outmatched. So much fun!!!!

6th and 7th Grade Scheduling Cards Due Monday, March 2nd

Just a reminder that students need to submit their elective preferences online on PowerSchool by Monday, March 2nd, as well as turn in the hard copy form to their science teacher.

A Fun Night at ESCAPE!

Thank you to all of our Smith Knight families who came out to support the Smith PTO at ESCAPE this past Tuesday. We had a great turnout! Students enjoyed bowling, laser tag, arcade games, and the delicious food.

Congratulations, Smith Science Olympiad Team!

Our Science Olympiad Team took an overall 2nd place at the Holt Invitational in Lansing this past weekend. Each tournament, they have placed higher than they did the previous year. Congrats! This weekend is the Regional Competition at Detroit Country Day. Good luck, Smith Knights!

Math Test-Out Information

Middle and High School students may waive a mathematics course requirement by testing out of a particular course.

The documents at (https://www.troy.k12.mi.us/departments/teaching-learning) explain the process and contain study guides for each course. Please read the first document (Testing Out Information 2020) thoroughly for the requirements for testing out.

IMPORTANT: The test out form must be completed on-line through the PowerSchool Parent/Student Portal. Submissions will be accepted between February 19 - March 20, 2020. Smith Middle School Homework Help

Smith’s Homework Help and Mentoring program will run every Tuesday and Wednesday morning from 7:40-8:10 in room 3. This is a drop-in program for students to get some extra help with their classes. There will be a teacher present, as well as student mentors who can assist students with difficult concepts, questions about homework, and organization.
