Kublai Khan decided that he would control all of China in 1271

Like many Chinese, the Mongols in China practiced Buddhism, but they were respectful of the other religions.

One of the most famous European travelers to reach China was Marco Polo

The Mongol empire stretched from China to Eastern Europe
