This is a statewide, juried exhibition of recent work from printmakers across California. The exhibit features nearly 30 artists and over 60 original prints. Founded in 2006, the purpose of the exhibition is to display the best of California printmaking in Merced's downtown, 28,000 square foot Arts Center. This year's juror is Jamey Brzezinski, founder of the California Centered: Printmaking exhibition, Professor Emeritus of Art at Merced College and Bay Area artist, who has over 40 years of experience in the medium of printmaking.
Accompanying the juried work in our main gallery are solo exhibitions, in the upstairs galleries, from our Best of Show winners from last year: Martin Azevedo, Lynn Curtis, and Joseph Tipay. Both Martin and Joseph are printmaking professors, teaching at CSU Stanislaus and Merced College, respectively. Lynn is a successful artist from Orinda, CA and specializes in monotype landscapes.
