Note from Mr Higginbottom

I have really enjoyed getting to know more of our fabulous children this week and learning more about how to help to make their school even better. We have already begun consulting with children about their ideas to support great behaviour and attendance in school. Their thoughts will help me to create new routines and rewards and help to support children when they make a poor choice. I will update you on these new systems in the coming weeks.

As I learn more about how our school works, I'm already seeing how we can make things work more smoothly and help everyone to focus on children's learning. This is why you'll see some changes detailed in this newsletter. I'm always interested in your views on how the school can help your children, so please do catch me at the beginning or end of the day if you'd like to share your ideas. If you would like to talk to me, you should find me somewhere near the end of the bridge at the start and end of the school day.

Pedestrian Access to School

To help to keep everyone safe, from Monday 13th September the vehicle access gate to school will be closed during the school drop off and pick up times and all site users should access via the pedestrian gate/walkway. The senior leadership team and I have reflected carefully on balancing the risks associated with pedestrian access via the driveway and the reasons that this was temporarily halted during covid restrictions. We feel that it is now more appropriate to return to the most secure system. If this causes any problem for you please talk to me to help identify how we can support you.

PE kit

My apologies for the confusion this week with PE shirts provided by the school. We have resolved the initial issue and will work to take orders from those parents who were unable to order before the summer break. To ensure that we do not lose learning time on children's PE days, they can come to school in their PE kits and remain in them all day.

School Administrator Role

Due to the retirement of Mrs Firth from her role as School Administrator, we have a vacancy for a new School Administrator. Please help us to find someone fabulous by sharing the information found in the link below if you know someone who might be interested in working with us. https://ce0351li.webitrent.com/ce0351li_webrecruitment/wrd/run/ETREC107GF.open?VACANCY_ID%3d109494VKpE%1BUSESSION=9D6E1C46124611ECA619E493102B242B&WVID=70298800Qz&LANG=USA

We hope that you all have a fantastic weekend and we look forward to a great week of learning next week! Thank you for your support.
