Planning a Presentation "A VIRTUAL CONSTRUCT"

"Hello, my name is George Santiago, and today I would like to tell you a little about myself."(Establish who I am and my purpose)

"I am a peace time Veteran who lives with a physical disability and decided to return to school because I was impelled to help others like myself get the assistance they needed in living more productive lives, by trying to save canines from animal shelters so that they can be trained as Service Animals for those who served this country and are now in need of our service." (Know my target audience)(What do we have in common)(What is my true message)(Stories convey meaning)

"Success is not final, failure is not fatal...it is the courage to continue that counts."

"Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole"

-Roger Caras-

"Even in times of trauma, we try to maintain a sense of normality until we no longer can. That my friends, is called surviving. Not healing. We never become whole again...we are survivors...those of us who have made it thru hell and are still standing...we bare a different name..."Warrior" -Lori Goodwin-

"I have acquired a formal education from Full Sail University, along with the necessary skills and tools that may become a valuable asset to this company. I also bring along years of experience as a dog trainer working individually with dogs and their owners, or in group settings which require the ability to motivate and manage clients and their dogs, organize and plan lessons, create business plans and strategies that would help my business grow, and the patience and determination to see a project grow in stages until its completion, but most of all, I have the ability to work well under constant pressure and meet my deadlines. I am a very creative thinker, I can see "outside the box" when needed, and have never walked away from a challenge." (What skills are they looking for)(Know the industry)

"Also, being a person with a physical disability, I understand the difficulties faced every day as a handicapped person, and, that how a simple thing such as opening a door can be a challenge for some, or an impossibility for others. How when we are in emotional distress, need someone to be there, if only to hold us for reassurance."(Create an emotional bond)

I wish to show you how a Service Animal can greatly impact someones' quality of life. (Connect with the audience)(What do we have in common)(Define the journey)

"There are an estimated 13,000 community shelters nation wide, with an estimated 7.6 million companion animals who enter them. Each year, 2.7 million animals are euthanized, (1/2 of which are cats), while another 2.7 million are adopted,(about 649,000 animals are returned to their rightful owners each year), and millions of dollars are donated to charities in the hopes of granting some mercy to a sick or suffering animal." Why aren't these animals being trained instead of being euthanized? (Know your material)(Interesting points about the industry)

"I truly believe that we can do more to save these animals, as well as doing more for our servicemen and women. We all know someone who is either in the service, or was, or someone who's life has been touched by adversity, or marred by tragedy. Ask yourselves, "What have I done on my part to help them? or "What can I do to help them?"(Your audience is the Hero)(Create a S.T.A.R. moment)

"What I wish to do with your help is to create more avenues in this digital rich media culture that we live in to save these animals and get them into the loving arms of those who need them." "One way I would like to save these creatures is through the gift of music." "Imagine a website where local artist, musicians, bands, producers, and song writers can upload and showcase their musical talents, while donating money to their favorite animal shelter?" "Interesting, right?"(Create something they will always remember)

"A nominal fee is charged to upload their content, a percentage of which will go to the local animal shelter of their choice, or nonprofit. The general public would be able to access the site for free and search for their favorite local or regional band, Artist, or song, and also donate to their favorite Artist or Band's nonprofit." (Call to action)

"If we can help save more dogs from shelters, then we would have made a difference in saving more than just the life of a dog, but the life of a fellow human being and servicemen."

"Thank you, for granting me this opportunity to present myself before you, and I hope that I will have a chance in the future to grow and be a part of this wonderful company!"
