There is an energy on The University of Alabama campus sparked by the start of the fall semester and the arrival of students back to The Capstone. We usher in the start of the school year with spirited events geared to new students such as Camp 1831, Yea, Alabama!, Convocation and the Script A as well as lively entertainment for the entire campus as part of the power-packed schedule of Week of Welcome (WOW). Welcome back to campus and Roll Tide!

Hundreds of volunteers help move students in on campus to make the process roll along smoothly.
Families are met at their cars and volunteers assist with getting everything to their dorm rooms.
University President Dr. Stuart Bell greeted many of the families during early Move-In.
Service is a key initiative of the Honors College and students participated in community outreach prior to the start of classes.
Honors Action projects included beautification efforts at several area schools as well as assisting with eye exams.
Students were treated to painting as part of Artistic Expressions, sponsored by University Programs.
Glow-in-the-dark skating at the Ferg was a hit!
Week of Welcome (WOW) is a series of events that promote unity and strength through friendship.
A solar eclipse was a bonus for the Yea, Alabama! Kickoff BBQ on the Quad.
Approximately 6,000 students participated in this year's Script A tradition.
The Capstone came alive on August 23 - the official start of the fall semester.
Onyx is an event for students to learn about minority & cultural organizations on campus.
