Girls Track Athlete of the Year finalists

Paige Eckart, Senior, Seven Rivers Christian

A multi-event standout, Eckart made her mark on the track and at the high jump pit. The senior closed out her career with a fifth-place finish at the FHSAA State Track and Field Championships, with a leap of 5-feet 1-inch in the Class 1A finals. She also posted the fastest 400-meter dash time of the season in the county and helped the Warrior 4x400 relay team do the same.

Harrison Mancke, Senior, Crystal River

The Panther made her fourth trip to the State Finals and had her most successful trip to close out a brilliant throwing career. Mancke placed fourth in the Class 3A discus competition with a season’s-best toss of 128-feet 3-inches and also took fifth-place honors in the 3A shot put with a heave of 38-feet 4 1/4-inches.

Madison Winship, Senior, Crystal River

The Pirate joined fellow senior and longtime friend Eckart by closing out her jumping career with a medal at state. Winship had a leap of 5-feet 5-inches — just one inch shy of her own school record — to place third in the Class 2A competition. She adds that bronze medal to the fourth-place medal she claimed a year ago.
