Pat Tillman Core Values
Importance is one of the most evident values in Pat's life, he always wanted to do something that had some sort of importance to society. When he was in school he found importance in football and trying to make it to the NFL because so many people doubted him, once he made it to the NFL he found importance in that for a few years. After the September 11th attacks, Pat Tillman's opinion started to change about the importance of what he was doing, a few months later he decided that his job had little to no importance on society so he gave up his NFL career to peruse something more important. He joined the United States Military hoping to help serve his country in a time of need, Pat felt very strongly about the importance of his decision.
Success is another core value of Pat's that is shown numerous times throughout the book. Pat is the kind of guy that wants to be the best he can possibly be at what he is doing. His whole life he strives to be successful on the football field, once he accomplishes that he decides to leave football behind and join the military. Something completely different than football for Pat, but he had the same mindset towards it, he was going to do anything and everything necessary in order for him to be successful. That is just the type of person that was, the kind of guy that was always striving to be the best possible version of himself.
Service is the last core value of Pat's that I am going to discuss. Pat chose to serve our country instead of making millions as an NFL safety. he could have easily just stayed in the NFL and had an extremely luxurious life. Instead he decided to serve our country in the United States Military, and that takes a lot to do. I can't think of many people that would be strong enough to make that kind of decision, to leave an "easy" life for a life of service of ones country. He shocked many people and became an extreme role model for everyone. Pat served his country with honor and died in the process, there is nothing but respect for Pat Tillman.
My Core Values
Hard Working is one of my core values. My motto is that if you put in the time for something, results will come. No matter how many people doubt you, or how hard your goal may seem to achieve, if you work hard enough you can reach any of goals. I have lived by this my whole life and it has yet to prove me wrong so I continue to live by it.
Happiness is another core value of mine. This is one of the most important aspects of life to me. If you are not happy with what you are doing, then why do it. No matter what it is that you are doing, if you do not enjoy it then you should not do it. Find what makes you happy and stay with it, don't change because of other people, change because of you.
Family is the last core value I am going to discuss. I think that this is the most important one. No matter what happens your family will always be there for you. Friends, relationships, co-workers will come and go, but your family will always be there for you. Having a strong relationship with your family is something that cannot be replaced by anything, family is the backbone to ones life, and a good family results in a good future. Not everyone is as fortunate and have a loving and complete family, that is why i am very thankful for the family I have and always keep them a part of my life.
