Dates to Note

There will be a rooter bus heading to Autzen Stadium on Saturday, 11/23 for the Semi Final Football game against West Albany. Cost will be $5.00 for the bus and $5.00 for the game (bring extra money for food). Permission slips will be in the bookkeeper’s office. The first 50 students that return signed permission slip by parent/guardian and pay the bookkeeper, will get a spot on the bus. GO COMETS!!!
Attention ALL National Honor Society Members: Mandatory meeting upstairs in room 76 on Tuesday, November 19th at 12:50 PM.

Thanksgiving Holiday Schedule

  • Monday, Nov 25th - Regular Schedule
  • Tuesday, Nov 26th - Regular Schedule
  • Wednesday, Nov 27th - 2 hour early release
ASVAB testing will be offered at Crater on Monday, December 2nd at 9:00 AM. Sign-ups are at the BIS office.

Term 2 Information

Term 1 wrap up! Finals are upon us! Parents, please help your students to carve out some quite study time this week. Students, please check with teachers about final exams and getting in all homework and projects.
Schedule change request forms are at the office. If you need to change your schedule please return by November 26th.
Intersession dates for Term 2: Jan 22, 29 and Feb 5 & 7. The master schedule of student intersessions is posted outside the office.

New Intersession Offering: Aquarium Science

In this intersession you will learn how start and maintain a healthy tropical fish aquarium as well as a saltwater reef aquarium. You will learn the basics of water testing and how to correctly maintain the ideal parameters. You will also learn about aquascaping and how to design a natural looking aquarium. The class will culminate with an overnight trip to the Oregon Coast Aquarium in Newport where we will sleep in the shark tunnel and have a behind the scenes tour of the aquarium. We will be leaving Crater at 12pm on Friday February 7th and returning to Crater around 5pm on Saturday the 8th. The cost is $80 which includes dinner and breakfast. You will need spending money for lunch on Saturday as well as for the gift shop if interested. Please, return schedule change forms right away if you are interested in switching to Aquarium Science with Mr. Paradela.


"Happy Holidays everyone! On November 18th, Crater Performing Arts Center will be hosting another Movie Night Fundraiser with food provided by Mr. Barber's Culinary Arts Block Class! The film we will be showing is the brand new Disney+ movie, Noelle, starring Anna Kendrick and Bill Hader. Santa Claus decides he has done his job enough and prepares to retire and pass the reins down to his son Nick. Nick quickly realizes how much pressure he is under, he runs away. His sister Noelle must find and convince him to follow through with Christmas before it is too late! Admission will be $5 and includes 2 slices of pizza made by the Culinary Arts block as well as a small beverage. Additional concessions will be sold in the lobby. Dinner will be served at 5 PM and the movie will begin at 6 PM. See you there!"

CAHPS Classroom Engagements

Mrs. Thueson’s third grade class came to Mrs Heiner’s 2nd period Biology Class for a microscope lesson. They looked a variety of living cells.

Mrs. Heiner's Biology class has been hard at work using the Green Screen to film 'Journey Into A Cell' video and voice-over. Students are writing, acting, and producing themselves.


Winter sports tryouts are today, Monday Nov 18th. The sign-up book is now available in the Athletic Office. You must have a current sports physical and participation permit on file in the Athletic Office prior to trying out.
