Fanny Cochrane Smith was born in 1834 on Flinders Island without an Aboriginal name.

In 1842 Fanny was sent to an orphanage in Hobart.

This is an example of a Tasmanian orphanage

In 1854 Fanny married William smith who was a convict and an eNglish man.

In 1899 Fanny made her only song and she was the only Tasmanian Aboriginal to record her language aNd no one else Has ever recorded a song like that

In 1903 Fanny recorded her aboriGinal songs

Fanny died in 1905 and she was one of the last tasmanian aBoriginal people left.
