BIRTH AND CHILDHOOD

Shakespeare's official birthday cannot be factually determined but according to tradition, Shakespeare was born on April 23rd, 1564 and died on his birthday in 1616. He was born and raised in Stratford-Upon-Avion, UK. This was a very important town, because it was a place where "money could be made," the reason that Shakespeare's father moved there.

CAREER

The King's Men acting company and The Lord Chamberlains Men where the acting companies that Shakespeare worked for, for most of his career. He wrote for both Companies.

ROMEO AND JULIET

Romeo and Juliet is a play that seems to be timeless. It is believed to have been written by Shakespeare between 1594-1595 in his early career, but most experts agree that it was written before 1597. His story is about two young individuals who immediately fall in love upon meeting. sadly, they run into tragedy. This was arguably Shakespeare's most popular play during his life. Romeo and Juliet is one of the most popular plays today.

THE GLOBE THEATRE

The Globe Theatre was a theater in London associated with William Shakespeare. It was built in 1599 by the Lord Chamberlain's Men, Shakespeare's company. The original Globe Theater was destroyed in a fire during a performance of one of his plays, and was then rebuilt using the old theaters remaining wood.

DEATH

William Shakespeare died in Stratford-upon-Avon, the same place that he was born and raised. Shakespeare died on his believed birthday, April 23rd, 1616. He was 52 when he died, and the cause of his death is still a mystery.
