There's a certain Slant of Light by: Emily dickinson

Emily Dickinson

theres little light when the cold comes. it's depressing like the heavy sound of an organ.

we are hurt but cant find a scar. Theres only internal pain.

no one can teach an empire of suffering and pain. it is sent to us.

when death comes, everything is quiet and still.

The author uses strong personification to show how death effects everything. this poem about death is pursued through imagery that shows when death comes everything is quiet and still. Everything and everyone becomes depressed like the sound of an organ playing in a cathedral. The tone is melancholy and woeful, making her readers feel the amount of pain and sadness she is in.
