Spring Fellowship May 19-21, 2017

Mic-O-Say Lodge 541 will be holding its annual Spring Fellowship on May 19 through May 21, 2017 at the Steve Fossett Spirit of Adventure Ranch (SOAR), [fmr. Camp WeCAN], which has been gracious enough to let the Arrowmen of Mic-O-Say Lodge use the great camp for Spring Fellowship. This event serves as a great way to complete Ordeals, create lasting bonds of brotherhood and fellowship, meet new scouts from all over the council, and, for Arrowmen who have already been inducted, it serves as a chance to go for the honor of Brotherhood and Vigil.

In attendance at this year's Spring Fellowship

Scouts everywhere, from Steamboat to Montrose will be in attendance at this year's Spring Fellowship. Scouts from Tahosa, Tupwee and Ha-Kin-Skay-A-Ki lodges have also been invited to attend this year's event! In addition to great fellowship, a large amount of Spring Fellowship consists of service. The Order of the Arrow is scouting's honor society, the brotherhood of cheerful service. You won't want to miss what is happening at this year's Spring Fellowship.

Mark your Calendars! Fellowship is rapidly approaching!

Fellowship check-in and registration begins at 6:30 and goes until 8:00. The ordeal will begin at 8:30pm Friday night and will go until Sunday morning at approximately 10am. Dinner will not be provided Friday night, so please eat prior to your arrival. You may leave early on Saturday night, after dinner, if need be. You may sign up now on the council website (http://www.wccbsa.org/calendar) to register for Spring Fellowship. Registration costs $30 for members, $35 for Brotherhood and Vigil Candidates, and $40 for newly elected Ordeal Members.

How to Register!

To register:

  • Navigate to the Calendar page at wccbsa.org
  • Click on event named "O.A. - Spring Fellowship"
  • Register as your appropriate honor or candidacy. For newly elected scouts, register as Ordeal Candidate.
  • Get stoked for an awesome weekend!

For newly elected Order of the Arrow candidates:

So what is the Order of the Arrow and why should I care?

The Order of the Arrow is Scouting's National Honor Society, comprised of scouts who's attitude and service have been seen and noticed by the scouts in their unit. You have been elected by your unit, not because of things you have already done to lead and serve, but because of the things that you are yet to do. Many great leadership opportunities in the OA exist to help to make units and scouts grow in the way they are led.

What happens after my ordeal?

After your ordeal is over, you will be officially brought into the Order of the Arrow. You will join over 170,000 other scouts who's service was recognized, just like you. It is the hope of the lodge and chapter that you remain active after your ordeal and continue to grow the leadership in your troop, school and all aspects of your life. Great things are to come of the Order of the Arrow, and you can be a part of this change.

What will you need in order to come to Spring Fellowship?

For ordeal members, you will need,

  • 1 sleeping bag
  • 1 tarp
  • A change of clothes for Saturday and Sunday
  • Class A Uniform (Field)
  • Tent Stakes (optional)
  • Backpacking backpack
  • The Scouting Ten Essentials (minus the food)
  • An extra water bottle (so you don't get dehydrated!)
  • Warm Clothes
  • Necessary Medications and Toiletries
  • OPTIONAL - Money for trading post merchandise (patches, pins, neckerchiefs, etc)

Do NOT bring any food, as all food will be provided for you. Bears are a big problem at SOAR. In addition to not bringing food, it is asked that all technology (including MP3 players, phones, music-listening devices, computers, etc.), be left at home. Technology can become a distraction that will diminish the meaning and impact of the ordeal.

For Brotherhood candidates:

To Register:

  • Go to wccbsa.org and Navigate to the Calendar.
  • Click on Spring Fellowship.
  • Proceed to register as Brotherhood Candidate

For returning Arrowmen!

Please take about 5 minutes to complete a short survey which would greatly help the Lodge in communication, attendance and activities. For best results, please only take this survey once.
