Lighting Arizona Purple to stop domestic violence

The 3rd Annual Lighting of the Capitol Dome was held outside the Arizona State Capitol to kick off Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

The Capitol Dome was illuminated with purple light, the signature color of domestic violence awareness.

Activists, survivors, law enforcement officers and supporters took to the podium to speak out against violence in the home and what we as Arizonans can do to prevent it.

The dome will remain lit throughout the month of October.

Hundreds gathered for the evening ceremony.
