Outreach Philippines 2017

Welcome to Manila!

We've been in Manila for nearly 3 weeks, and we've already been able to see God moving in incredible ways! After our long trip across the world, we got settled into our host church in the Manila City district. We are just 1 team of over 25 other teams currently working with Megacities! We are a part of the first wave of teams that will be arriving to Manila over the course of 2017 to partner with the local church and see transformation take place in the city and nation! Our lteam has 17 people, including 2 children and a baby!

NoƩ reading the Bible out loud in public during our first week of ministry! As a team we read the Bible nonstop from Genesis to Revelation in under three days to lay the foundation for the ministry that will take place here in the city!
Our team has been serving faithfully, in unity and harmony wherever our ministry day may take us!

During first week of ministry we were meeting with local pastors and other ministries to see what was going on around us in the city that we could possibly support and be a part of. We then would gather together as an outreach team to intercede and ask the Lord to reveal to us what we should focus on.

He gave us 3 main focuses: EVANGELISM, DISCIPLESHIP OF THE YOUTH, and to work to influence the SPHERES OF GOVERNMENT/EDUCATION
We've been doing creative evangelism in the park, sharing testimonies and churches, and taking lots of selfie's as that is one of Filipinos favorite things to do!!

We've made contact with the local Salvation Army branch close to the church we're staying at, and an opportunity was opened up for us to provide discipleship to their youth leaders as well as new believers on Friday nights! It was really cool when we were offered this because it was exactly what God had spoken to us about doing and was even the same day of the week some of us had felt!

We've been able to experience multiple forms of transportation around the city! One place we got to go to was a high school with over 2000 kids and we were able to speak to and pray for their girls softball team!

One of the most encouraging and exciting things for Gabriella and I as the DTS leaders has been to see how our students have stepped out of their comfort zone's, not only in flying across the world to minister in a nation not their own, but to stand before before audiences large and small to give testimony of what God has done in their lives as well as preach the gospel. We've seen how God has used this outreach to encourage students to pursue the calling he has placed on their lives. Students that battled with anxiety and fear have taken steps to overcome that and have not allowing anything to hinder them from being used in any way God wants to on outreach. Our students who only speak Spanish have not allowed a language barrier to exist for them, stepping out and sharing the love of Jesus if even through a translator!

Dallas had the privilege to teach at a local church, and one of our creative evangelism ideas was a hospital for the broken heart where we handed out Bible verses in the form of "medication."

We want to send a huge thank you to everyone who supported us in prayer and finances to get to Manila, already we've seen over 50 people accept Christ as their Savior, various people getting healed through street ministry, as well as ministering to the homeless! We could not do this without you. Please continue to pray for our team, for health and safety, and for favor with local contacts that we may be of the greatest blessing possible while we are here!

Absolutely love seeing our students ministering here in Manila! (above is Mitch and Josh!)

Until next time! We love you!
