CSCSHC Community Newsletter August 24, 2018

Welcome to the CSCSHC Community Newsletter. This bimonthly publication is intended to keep you up-to-date with all that is happening in and around the school district. We want to share all the great things our staff and students are doing in our classrooms and community. We look forward to sharing our stories of student success, achievement, participation in arts and athletics, and a commitment to philanthropy. We are "New Pal Proud" of our students for achieving their personal best in pursuit of excellence!

Message from the Superintendent

Thank you all for your continued cooperation with some small changes to our transportation, drop off, and pickup procedures over the past few days. We appreciate your willingness to be flexible as we've made adjustments to help our students get into and out of our buildings quickly and safely each day.

I'd also like to thank you for accommodating our half-day earlier this week. Because of the half-day, all CSCSHC teachers and staff were able to attend important safety training. This training will help our staff remain calm and formulate plans in the unlikely event of an emergency in one of our school buildings. As an administration, we want to make sure your children's teachers are as prepared as possible for any emergency. Thank you for letting us spend an afternoon to provide our staff with training on these important issues.

Finally, good luck to all of our Dragon teams in action this weekend. Cross country, tennis, boys and girls soccer, and girls golf are all in action tomorrow. Our Dragon football team hosts Center Grove tonight at Kelso Stadium. Go Dragons!

Kelso Stadium and Shepler Field

TRAFFIC NOTE about tonight's football game:

For anyone attending tonight's football game, please use the entrance off Gem Rd (500W). Please do not use the US 52 NPHS entrance. We would also encourage fans to arrive early due to a crowd that is expected to be larger than normal. Thank you for your cooperation!

NPHS Robotics Fundraiser

Our New Palestine High School Robotics team is raising money for their upcoming competitions later this year. Due to changes in rules and equipment, the team had to shoulder additional costs in order to continue to field a team. Please consider helping our team so they can continue to excel in this innovative field!

RAVE Panic Button

RAVE Panic Button

The district is excited to announce the availability of a new mobile app for all teachers and administrators at Southern Hancock. The RAVE Panic Button allows any staff member in of our buildings to immediately notify all other staff members, district administrators, and first responders of an emergency with just the press of a button.

This technology will allow first responders to arrive more quickly and allow our district administrators manage an emergency more efficiently. Safety and security is our number one priority. Thanks the Hancock County 911 center for providing this important safety technology to help keep all Hancock County students and staff safe.

SchoolPay Lunch Money Deposit

Do you have issues or questions about our new SchoolPay lunch money deposit program? Did you know you can deposit lunch money through PowerSchool?
