This week we finished reading, Walk Two Moons. Since this story was a story within a story, we spent a lot of time discussing how the author developed both stories. The students really enjoyed the twists and turns of this novel. Several of the students asked to read it again to look for the clues they missed to the surprises along the way.
This week we started Unit 8. Unit 8 reviews many concepts we have studied throughout the year. We will also be doing more story problems!! This week we reviewed angles, symmetry, and adding and subtracting fractions.
The students are having a lot of fun receiving postcards from all over the United States. They are learning a lot about the location of the states and interesting facts about each one. The students also each chose a state and have been creating a Google slide presentation about their state.
Students have chosen their person for the wax museum. We will begin research and speeches this week in class. Once the students have their speech, they will be bringing home their speeches to practice. We look forward to bringing the wax museum to life on May 17th from 2:15-3:00.
The students had so much fun Friday at the Museum. The museum provided so many hands on experiences for the kids.
