The Solar System In order

This is our solar syatem, it is part of the milky way.

This is the planet we call mercury, and it is the smallest planet in our solar system. It is also the closest planet to the sun. Did you know that, mercury is going around the solar system four times, when the earth is going around once?
This is venus, it is the second closest planet to the sun. Did you know, that venus has no moons? It also rotates in the opposite direction to earth.
As you know this is earth. This is where we all live. At the moment we are the only form of life in the solar system that we know of, but we could find some one day! Did you know that it is the only planet in the solar system that has an atmosphere contining 21 percent oxygen!
This is the planet we call Mars. We are trying to send people there, like we sent people to the moon, to see if there is any form of life on there, and to see if there used to be any form of life, or water on it. Did you know that mars is often called the Red Planet?

This is the astroid belt that is located inbetween Mars and Jupiter. More than 7000 asteroids have been discovered. Several hundred more are discovered each year. And there are undoubtedly hundreds of thousands more that are too small to be seen from the Earth.

This is Jupiter. It is the largest planet in our solar system, and it has at least 67 moons!
This is Saturn. Its largest moon is called Titan, and Titan is larger than the planet mercury! Titan is the only planet with an atmosphere.
This is Uranus. This planet is special because it rotates differently from all the other planets and it looks like it's tipped on its side. Did you know that it is the coldest planet in our solar system?
This is the planet we call Neptune, and it has 19 moons. Did you know that, Hershal and his sister were the first people to see it through a telescope, in there backgarden, in Bath.
