My name is Claire Jones and I am the club photographer at Northampton Saints Rugby Club. I have been at the Saints for fourteen seasons and love taking photos of the men in GB&G in action. I am accredited for the Gallagher Premiership, the Premiership Rugby Cup and the European Rugby Champions Cup.
I am known by many in rugby simply because I wear a daft red hat. I wear it because years ago I borrowed a red hat to wear because of the cold - I looked very silly and it made people laugh. But soon it became my brand and Northampton Saints supporters expect me to wear it to every game.
I am Mrs Red Hat and I love taking photos of my beloved Saints. And all my work raises money for a great cause - this season it is the Northampton Saints Wheelchair Rugby team. I love working with the wheelchair rugby guys - they have a great team ethic and play rugby in the spirit of our game.
I travel thousands of miles each season taking photos - I haven't missed a game since January 2013 which is well over 250 games. I shoot with three cameras at a game a Nikon D6 with either a 400mm f2.8 or a 200-400mm f4; a Nikon D5 with a 70-200mm f2.8 and a Nikon D850 with a 24-70mm f2.8.
I am very lucky that I get to work with a fabulous team at the Saints - my work would be impossible without the support of the Saints management, coaches, players, media and operations teams. I owe them a huge debt of thanks for their efforts.
Enjoy my photos!
