My Life Vision By Ellie mccutchen

Hello my name is Ellie!

My full name is Eleanor ZhaoMan McCutchen, but I have been called Ellie since before I can remember. I was born in Hunan, China on September 25, 2002 and was adopted right before my first birthday. My family consists of my Mom, Dad, younger sister and two dogs. I went to Clemmons Elementary and Meadowlark Middle before coming to Early College of Forsyth.

What do I Like to Do?

Throughout my lifetime I have tried many different things and discovered a few that I really enjoy doing. The first thing I like to do is read. My mom is a librarian so I have grown up in the world of books. I love to read all genres and I think it is really calming to read a book before going to bed each night. Another thing I like to do is hang out with my friends and family. My friends and family are all so much fun to be around and they always make me laugh. I also love to sit down and let my creativity run wild in my sketch book. Another thing that I enjoy is petting my dog Sadie. She makes me really happy and I like to be around her, take her for walks and love on her. In addition I also like to play the ukulele and watch Netflix because they are both a fun ways to take some time for myself. All of these things that I like to do help make me who I am. I am excited to see what I discover next.

What does True Happiness look like?

To me, true happiness is when you whole heartily love and accept who you are as a person and live life the way you feel is best for you. It is also means that you continue to live in the present, laugh and take on whatever life has to offer. Being truly happy is different for everyone. Not everyone finds happiness in the same way. Another aspect of being happy is accepting other peoples’ happiness as well as your own.

What are my Values?

I believe in being kind and accepting to everyone around you. The world without kindness and love would be a scary place and I would not want to live in it. I also believe in continually trying to better yourself as a person. By learning, experiencing and discovering as much about the world as you can, I believe you become more aware of what's happening around you and are better prepared to make the world a better place. Last but not least, I believe in the importance of family and friends. With people who love and care about you surrounding you, there is nothing that you cannot accomplish.

Who and What is important to me?

There are many things that are important to me. My family and friends are very important because they have such a big impact on my life. They have influenced who I am and who I will become. My dog, Sadie is also very important to me. Dogs are always there for you no matter what. Another thing that is important to me is doing my best in everything that I do, especially school. If I’m going to do something I am going to do it to the best of my ability.

"You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, 'I lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along."- Eleanor Roosevelt

Who do I admire? What qualities do I admire about them?

One person I admire is Conan Gray. Even though he is just a youtuber he inspires me to be a better person who spreads love and positivity. Conan also has helped me accept myself and really explore the artsy side in me. Conan inspires so many different people around the world and I want to inspire people too. His outlook on life has also changed my perspective on how life should be lived. Another person I admired is my Nana, Danna Osen. She was a strong, independent women who made her own way in life. She was also a social worker who cared deeply about others. She was an example to me of how to be a true friend as she made an effort to always keep up with those she cared about. My Nana died in 2012 but I still continue to strive to be like her.

What do my parents and family want for me?

My parents and family want me to always do my best, be happy, and always be myself. They also want what is best for me and support me in all my goals. My parents don't really have a specific job field that they want me to go into but I know they want me to go to college and do something meaningful with my life. They have also taught me that success does not depend on the amount of money that you make. Being successful is all about doing something you enjoy that helps change the world in a positive way. I love them dearly and I can't wait to see what I can accomplish in the future with their love and support.

What is my Purpose?

As of today, the purpose of my life is to continually learn as much as I can and enjoy being a kid. I have accepted the fact that I am going to be in school for a long time and that I need to learn as much as I can to better myself as a person. School may seem like a burden but if you really look at it in a different perspective, it is really just preparing you for the world. I also am at a point in my life where I have realized how fast time truly passes and how much time we take for granted. I occasionally miss being a small child and not having a care in the world, but I can’t dwell in the past. I have to live in the moment and savor my time of being a teenager who is just beginning to figure out her purpose.
