  • Most of his children were warlike, or associated with war.
  • It is believed that Ares probably originated as a god of fertility.
  • He had many affairs with the goddess Aphrodite.
  • He had love affairs with Aphrodite, even though she was married to the Greek god Hephaestus
  • Zeus told Ares that he was the most hateful god to him.
