What is a patent? A document that says you own legal rights to the product you are making?

Why would someone want to trademark a product? So no one else steals their idea or invention.

What is an invention? A device or tool that you or someone else has created to make life or a task easier.

What is an innovation? An idea someone has to improve a product or create a product.

What is a copyright? The exclusive legal right, given to an originator or an assignee to print, publish, perform, film, or record literary, artistic, or musical material, and to authorize others to do the same.

What is the difference between a trademark and a copyright? The Difference Between Copyright and Trademark. While both offer intellectual property protection, they protect different types of assets. Copyright is geared toward literary and artistic works, such as books and videos. A trademark protects items that help define a company brand, such as its logo.
