India's churches are growing, and yet its Christians are facing growing persecution.

India comprises a great diversity of languages, cultures and religions. With a population of 1.2 billion and growing, India will be the world's most populous nation in the next few decades.

India comprises multitudes of religions and beliefs. It's majority Hindu (80.9%), followed by Islam 12.7%, and Christianity 2.2%

Despite a long history of Christianity, it has the largest population of unreached people of any nation - approx. 600 million people have never heard the gospel.

Several pastors and evangelists have been beaten and killed, while others have been displaced by Hindu militants.

New believers can be harassed for their faith.

Church buildings are often attacked.

Some states have what are known as "anti-conversion laws" in place,

and some in the Hindu-radical aligned national government want to implement these across the whole country.
