Rough Skies Ahead Grace Schechter

Flying is a stressful job and adding a mental ILLNESS such as depression or anxiety does not help. These are often made worse than they have to be for pilots because they can not get the mental care they need for fear of losing their jobs.

Flying with a mental illness can make a person feel over worked and even more stressed than the situation actually is. Because If it is found out that the pilot is Struggling they will get their medical taken away.

Which one looks more complex? The picture on the right is an A380 and shows that commercial pilots have a whole lot more to handle than the typical private pilot.

Giving Pilots the option to receive mental care will help pilots feel more secure in their jobs and their lives. And a happy pilot is a safe pilot.

Or in my case a happy pilot means a scared instructor.
