The Angelou Literacy Academy provides young women with an enriching and challenging curriculum to help them grow to reach their full potential.

Established in 2003 to teach young girls in the D.C. area a love for literacy with an alternative foundational magnet school.

Admissions

Now enrolling students from several area school districts.

Students admitted on rolling basis each spring.

Admissions interview with a strong focus on benchmark scores.

Applicants tested using literacy and reading level predictors and the Naglieri Nonverbal Ability Test (NNAT), a 30 minute, culturally-neutral test to identify nonverbal reasoning and general problem solving skills.
