Redshirt senior and career 1,000-point scorer Erin Peoples made her season debut at North Texas after missing all of last season and the first 10 games on 2016-17 with an injury.

Texas State closed the nonconference portion of its schedule with a 59-58 win at North Texas.

Texas State finished its nonconference slate 5-6, including 3-2 at home. Taeler Deer led the Bobcats in scoring at 9.3 points per game, while Ericka May was the top rebounder at 5.1 per outing.
