My Year in Video III by Aidan Lee

I learned to effectively fly, operate and understand how the DJI Phantom 3 Advanced drone. I edited my teacher's family footage and the school's footage with the drone. I learned how to fly the drone on the DJI flight simulator on the DJI Go app. When I proved myself on the app, my teacher and I went out for the real thing. Everything went smoothy until the landing. When it touched down, he told me to bring both joysticks down all the way so that it would shut off. When I did that, the drone started skipping around and going crazy. Since that first flight, I have been trained more and I can successfully fly in a perfect circle and land flawlessly.

Before this year, I was scared to use Adobe Photoshop. Now, I love it and I am always ready to use it whenever I have the chance. Although I am by no means an expert, I learned the basics and was able to make and design my logo below, but I still have more to learn.

I was given the opportunity to begin filming for my youth group at church on Wednesday nights. I have made several promotional video for my church and am expected to film more soon. Shift Students Ministries is for the Junior High, High School and College students at our church and anyone else who would like to come.

Leadership USA is an organization that was originally founded in Australia and moved up to Southern California. Specifically Christ's Church of the Valley. There are three stages starting with team building and character building. Stage two is about becoming closer to Jesus and spending four days and three nights alone in the woods. Stage three revolves around writing your mission statement and how you plan to live the rest of your life. I was lucky enough to edit all of the footage from the camp videographer and make my own cut of LUSA 2016.

Overall, this year in Video II at San Dimas High School has really grown me in my skills with filming, editing, getting involved with companies, and heaps of other things that will help me in my future in videography.
