Worsbrough common Primary Home learning week 7

What a week! This week has been really busy both in front and behind the cameras! We obviously started the week with the Governement plans the schools will be opening from 1st June to some year groups, communication has been sent out around this already however I want to reassure you that the school and trust are working incredibly hard to make sure everything is in place and planned for that ensures we do this safely. We are currently working through risk assessments and school plans to take everything into account and have a smooth start back to school. Further communications will be going out to the key groups around this and we promise we will keep everyone up to date.

Wednesday this week saw staff encounter on our second wellbeing walk of lockdown and it was an incredibly positive day. We had staff working in pairs travelling all over Barnsley bringing well wishes and goodies to children and families. Employees from Tesco at Stairfoot had donated gift cards which we used to purchase books and magazines which we given away to families along side other gifts that school provided. It was great to see you all and to see how far and wide the WCPS family is spread.

Thursday saw our second live baking session with Mrs Harris and again we were overwhelmed with how many people joined in with us! This has been hugely popular event and we are currently working to launch our own virtual WCPS bake off for you all to get involved in. Thursday must have been the day for baking as we also received some amazing baking parcels, donated by Barnsley Catering Service. These contained a recipe card and all the ingredients to bake with. We donated these to some families and are encouraging them to share what they bake via photos and videos on social media!

Friday saw our weekly Smartie Pants assembly lived streamed on Facebook. This week Lottie hosted the event and awards were given out for a huge range of different reasons. This week even saw a parent awarded a certificate! Well done to all.

Once again I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your help and support. These, what could have been difficult, times have seen just how close the WCPS familiy can work together.

Stories from the shed

While out on our walk we bumped into Evie and later in the day mum contacted us to explain that Evie had something very special to share but she was too embarrassed.

Well done Evie!

Another great week of Seesaw home learning in CIRP. I am so proud of the work the children are completing and it has been a pleasure to see and mark. You are all earning lots of dojo’s and filling up your sticker award charts every week. I have been really impressed with the challenges and tricky learning you have completed. Keep up the good work. I would also like to say a massive thank you to all parents and carers for continuing to support your child’s learning at home.’ 😊🌈
