BOOK ONE: STEELHEART

Personal Summary: Steelheart is set in an alternate Earth where people with special abilities inhabit it called "epics". Each epic has their own special weaknesses, however some lesser epics can be killed by guns, while the more powerful ones can't. This book follows an orphan teenager named David Charleston who lives in Newcago, this alternate Earth's Chigaco. When David only 8 years old, epics were still relatively new to the world, it had been only two years since the first epic appeared. During that time, a powerful epic came to Newcago and had claimed the city for himself. In an incident, Steelheart had killed David's dad. This shaped David into who he is today, an epic fanatic who will go to any length to enact his revenge on the epic who had killed his father. To do this, he seeks a shadowy group called the Reckoners, an organization of normal people who dedicate their lives to killing epics and restoring order. It turns out that the Reckoners need David as much as he needs them. This story is filled with twists and suspense awaiting the reader.

Epics had special abilities such as water manipulation, electrical charging, earth manipulation, fire manipulation and reality warping abilities. These are just some of the many abilities and powers epics possessed.
