Bridgeway Counseling specializes in working with children, teens, young adults, and parents with emotional, behavioral, and cognitive issues. Whether it be that you are going through a significant change in your life such as divorce or a recent move, or your child is struggling to cope with the various issues that arise throughout development.

What we do

We tailor counseling interventions to the presenting need. Some different types of counseling interventions that may be used in your or your child's therapy session include, but are not limited to: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused, Client-Centered, Art and Play Therapy Techniques, Bibliotherapy, Cinematherapy, and Positive Psychology Techniques.

Who we are

Alyssa Mancuso earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Athens State University in Athens, Alabama, and her Master of Arts in Community Counseling from the University of North Alabama in Florence, Alabama. Alyssa has earned her certification as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with the state of Alabama, and is also a National Certified Counselor (NCC). She is a member of the ALCA (Alabama Counseling Association) and the owner of Bridgeway Counseling. Alyssa fulfilled a lifelong dream when Bridgeway Counseling opened in 2016. Alyssa provides mental health and substance abuse counseling services to people of all ages, with a specialization in the child and adolescent population. Before opening Bridgeway Counseling, Alyssa worked in various schools to provide youth and their parents with mental health services and support. She has also provided counseling and support to individuals and families experiencing substance abuse issues. In her free time, Alyssa enjoys spending time with her son, her family, and friends, as well as volunteering with youth in her church.
