KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - The Truman State University Athletics Department unveiled its refreshed Bulldog "T-Dog" logo. The updated visual identity includes a primary athletics mark, secondary and tertiary marks along with wordmarks and font styles created for Athletics. It ties in with the new Truman State University logo which was introduced earlier this spring. SME along with athletics administration, coaches, staff and student-athletes gave input throughout the project.
"Throughout our history, the Bulldog brand has been changed many times. We felt now was the right time to refresh our athletics logo to institutionally align with the new branding and tagline released by the University in March as we move forward into a new decade. I'm excited about the way our "T-DOG" tagline was preserved as our primary logo while brinGing the Bulldog to life. While there are many things that remain uncertain around us right now, one thing that will always remain certain is who we are...BULLDOGS FOREVER" - Director of Athletics Jerry Wollmering
In 1908, Football Coach O.C. Bell referred to his players as Bulldogs because of their tenacity and ability to hold on and fight desperately to the end. The mascot would be officially adopted in the spring of 1915.
