Top 5 Excuses for Not Doing a boudoir Photo Session right now

1. I need to lose weight.

Absolutely the number one reason I hear for putting off doing a photo session, hands down. Here is the thing, what is likely behind that statement is the fear that you won’t like what you see in the images. I’m all for health and fitness, don’t get me wrong – but believe me that you do not need to lose weight to look beautiful in your images. You are beautiful, right now, this version of you today is absolutely worth celebrating.

My job is to capture images that enhance your best features through posing, lighting and wardrobe so you can look at the images and love what you see. I also provide a professional hair and makeup atrist at your session to give you that extra confidence to feel your very best. I photograph people of all shapes, sizes and ages and you know what? Every one of them is beautiful.

2. I'm not photogenic.

My guess is what you really mean is that you just haven’t met the right photographer (no, friends with cell phones and selfies don’t count). Part of what professional photographers are able to do is take awesome photos of any client regardless of shape, size or experience.

Understanding which poses will work for you and being able to coach or direct you so you can relax and enjoy the experience (instead of worrying if you are doing it right) is something I pride myself in being able to do. If you are having fun and relaxed, that will shine through in your images.

3. Everyone will see my images.

Absolutely not. The only people that will ever see your images, aside from you and I, are people YOU decide to share them with. All of the images you see on my website and social media are clients of mine who specifically gave me permission to use their images by signing a model release, so that other people might be able to have the same amazing experience that they did.

I sign a strict privacy contract with every client which states that all images are kept confidential and private unless you sign a specific model release giving me permission to use specific images.

4. I’m too old.

Feeling beautiful, confident, empowered and sexy has no age limit. Are you a different person that you were 5, 10 or 20 years ago both mentally and physically? I should hope so – and in 5, 10 or 20 years you be a different person still. Being able to embrace all the beautiful stages of your life and celebrate them in images like this is a gift to yourself that you will never regret. I can’t wait to work with you again 5, 10 and 20 years from now – we will simply have more to celebrate.

5. I can’t afford it.

I will not pretend to know anyone’s personal financial situation. I do know that a session like this is something you want and deserve, but it’s not a need. That said, many people don’t realize that you don’t have to spend a gazillion dollars to have a professional who specializes in this type of imagery work with you. In fact, you don’t even have to come up with all the money at once.

Working with me, there is a flat fee for the photo session, hair and makeup, and edited proofs. Once you have the proofs, you can order albums, prints, canvases etc. whenever and in whichever quantity you would like. It is fairly common for a client to order an album soon after their shoot, but not order prints or a canvas for several months or even a year or more. Take it at your pace and within your budget, there is no rush at all.

The purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience. -ELEANOR ROOSHEVELT
