In the midst of failure, an athlete must know how to remove negative variables that could lead to harmful practice/training habits.
Possessing a large amount of mental toughness influences a positive mindset.
Mental toughness is what keeps an athlete determined and motivated.

Possessing resilience allows an athlete to make a comeback despite failure or a life changing event.

The amount of resilience an athlete has directly relates to the amount of mental toughness an athlete has, and it demonstrates how well they know how to cope.
