Firstly, a very well done to all of our Headteacher Award winners - read on to find out who was awarded what and by whom. We always have so much to celebrate at Greenfields and it has been great to be able to include the children from Year One who are on their last day of isolation. We can't wait to welcome you back to school on Monday, Year One!
We have a very full week of events coming up so please do check the calendar at the end of the Newsletter. I am particularly looking forward to the Santa Run on Wednesday, the DRET Carol Service on Thursday, and being able to deliver class presents to classrooms next Friday. Of course, you will hear all about the highlights in next week's Newsletter.
Thank you again for you understanding with regards to the many communications that we are having to send out to Parent/Carers, sometimes at very short notice. We are looking forward to returning to times when we are given plenty of notice of any planned changes by the Department for Education and our Local Authority. I know that we have sent a lot of important communications to parents of children who are eligible for Free School Meals as these pupils will now be receiving supermarket vouchers during the Christmas break. Everyone, please remember that if your circumstances change in any way you may find that you are entitled to additional financial support. This may include eligibility to FSM or Pupil Premium vouchers. You can apply for Free School Meals/Pupil Premium via the link below or contact the school office for help:
Have a lovely weekend.
Kitchen Sink Science, Terrific Tiger-style

Team Players in Marvellous Meerkats
This week, Marvellous Meerkats have launched their Team Player trophies. These trophies are awarded daily to the top two team players. To be considered for this trophy, children must show excellent team player skills throughout the day. We are very proud of Matei and Oscar for being the first recipients of our Team Player trophies. Well done!
Carol Singing Dragonflies
Dragonflies enjoyed their first singing lesson with Carol from Voices Foundation . They impressed her with the songs they had already learnt, then Carol taught them some new songs. We are so delighted to be a Singing School! Super singing Dragonflies!
Reception Reach New Heights
As part of PE Busy Bees have enjoyed using the climbing apparatus, from climbing to jumping, to swinging around. They have shown such confidence when faced with new challenges. Great job Busy Bees and Dragonflies!
Busy Bees Blast Off!
Sharks Love Singing!
Super Sharks have had an awesome singing sessions with Charlotte, who is our choir leader from Voices Foundation this week. Charlotte usually travels up from London to work with children and staff at Greenfields (and loves her visits here), but today she 'zoomed' in. The children love the opportunity to express themselves.

September 2021 Reception Intake
If you have a child turning 4 years old between 1 September 2020 and 31 August 2021, you need to apply for their place to start in Reception in September 2021.
Greenfields Primary School and Nursery is now rated as ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted, and as with all outstanding schools the popularity of the school increases. With this in mind, we are expecting to be oversubscribed in our admissions for a place in our Reception class in September 2021. This means that we will not have enough places for the number of children applying and some families will be disappointed and not be allocated Greenfields. More information on admissions can be found on our website
The application process is now available on the Northamptonshire County Council website: click on the button below to apply for place at Greenfields. The closing date is Thursday 17:00hrs 15th January 2021.
If your child is currently attending our nursery and is due to start in our Reception next year, then we do not want you to be disappointed and miss out on a place. You must submit an application before the closing date as places are NOT automatically allocated.
Should you require any further information please do not hesitate to contact our school office.
Google Classroom is where you will find Greenfields' amazing virtual classrooms full of chat and lots of hard work! If you have not used Google Classroom before, or you are new to Greenfields, please follow this link that explains how to log on to a PC, Android or Apple device. You will need your child’s email address and password, and the class codes below:
Class Code and Google Link
Teachers are looking forward to posting their ‘Flipping Greenfields’ videos this Friday in time for the weekend. Each one is all about next week’s learning, so will get your child prepared for a flying start on Monday. Research shows that children who feel prepared for the coming week are less anxious about school, happier to get up and go on a Monday morning and achieve better than those who are not.
New start and finish times
You will have received a message regarding the new start and finish times for your child which start on the 5th January. The shorter time frame will reduce the impact on the school learning day. Siblings have been given the same times to make things easier for parents dropping off and collecting. If you need any help or are unsure of your time slot please email the office on: email@example.com
Just a quick COVID reminder
