A Peaceful Walk By Maricruz Rodriguez

My family and I decided to go for a walk on the Papio Trail. We took this opportunity to catch up on things that have been happening in our personal lives. Our three adorable dogs of course accompanied us on this adventure.

The walk begins
An early-morning walk is a blessing for the whole day - Henry David Thoreau
A quick break

Since the dogs have not been out for a walk in a while, it wasn’t a surprise that they were tired after a couple minutes of walking. While taking this short break, we admired the Papio Creek.

The walk continues

Surprisingly the dogs regained their energy quickly. We continued to walk down the trail enjoying the wind hitting our faces lightly.

In every walk in with nature one receives far more than he seeks -John Muir
Fun times

My favorite thing about the whole walk were the memories we made We told silly stories and made many jokes. Since we don’t have a lot of time to have many family moments, we used time like these to catch up and enjoy our time together.

Papio Creek

The water in the creek matched the same bright blue that was up in the sky.

The Bridge

When going on walks we always set a goal. Our goal for this day was to make it to this bridge. My little brother, Cruz, was the most excited about this. When walking back his excitement grew knowing he would cross the bridge once again.

Driving back home

Walking back was probably the worst. The sunset definitely made up for it. I have always felt that you get an amazing view of a sunset or sunrise when being near the Papio Trail.
