The Foundation Degree (FdA) represents the first 2 years of a BA (Hons) degree, with most of our students progressing on to the 1 year top up - BA (Hons) Creative Practitioner, here at the University Centre, Wigan and Leigh College. We specialise in creative thinking and applying our graphic design skills to a range of visual communication scenarios. Students this year have overcome many obstacles since lock-down, here we are celebrating their achievements and championing their success as we look to the future.

Branding and application for Rueski Russian restaurant which takes influence from Russian palaces and traditional folk art. Rueski presents traditional Russian dishes in a grand and ornate setting.

Swap Shop branding and app design. Swap Shop is an initiative to encourage people to reuse unwanted clothing through creating a community where you can match with others based on size, taste or other parameters.

Artwork to accompany Orange Crush by R.E.M. and pose an anti-war message. Highlighting the songs anti-war meaning, and the opposision to the US military use of agent orange in the Vietnam War and its long term effects on it's people.

Gui Branding. Gui is a Chinese restaurant that's dark and atmospheric, it harks back to the ancient mysticism of the east. The word gui comes from the Chinese word for ghost.

Caribo Branding. Caribo is a caribean themed cafe, specialising sweet treats in a vibrant setting. The brand assets include a range of vibrant illustrations.

UHU Packaging for a brand extension to crafting supplies, including fine-liner pens.

Kawai (Japanese for cute) is a UK based Japanese Cafe serving cute deserts. The identity mixes Japanese style illustrations with pop influences.

The Audible Escape campaign enforces the notion of escapism from the everyday, through listening to audiobooks on Audible.

Heinz Crispz, Packaging for a brand extension taking Heinz Beans in to the snack market using the brands iconic can as the packaging vehicle.

Le Singe Qui Rit branding. Le Singe Que Rit (translation: the laughing monkey) is a Parisian style neighbourhood brasserie, using influences from 1920s circuses, it is classy yet relaxed.

Meat Free Monday campaign highlights the effect of agriculture on farming and seeks to formalise the already established meat free Monday as a conscious act in order to reduce meat consumption and production.

Cibo Sicilian restaurant branding. Cibo means "i give food to people" in latin. The branding for is informed by Italian neighbourhood 'cantinas', but stripped back to provide a minimal and sophisticated image. The logo is occasionally paired with a linework illustration of the 'trinacria' from the Sicilian flag.

BBCU is a new media intersection of physical and data experience, making media channels responsive to the environments they are in, and enabling users to influence micro-local digital content that interacts with the surroundings. Using retrospective ceefax styling in a nod to the BBCs first foray in to interactive content, but modified to allow a range of user interfaces.

Yeehaw Texan Diner Branding. The Branding takes the Red star and blue background of the texan flag and reinterprets it for this modern texas themed UK based Diner.

Barclays Online Banking App. Banking and personal finance is one of the key triggers of anxiety. This app has been specifically designed to help those with anxiety navigate through their finances with the minimal stress.
