DustyWagon B Sides The C Sides

Intro

Nick Young aka Dusty Wagon

Dusty Wagon is the working name of East London Born & Bred singer, songwriter & multi-instrumentalist Nick "Claus" Young.

Early influences include being bought a two tier organ to use for piano lessons, this ironically helped him get picked to use synths donated to Newham Council by Jean-Michel Jarre. A true geek, he was soon up and running at home using Cubase on an Atari ST (later sold to a Kiss FM DJ).

Nick joined the 5 piece rock band ICINI headed up by childhood friend Guitarist Jim Cooper, the pair soon became a formidable songwriting partnership. ICINI were regulars on the London gig scene 1997-2003 becoming crowd favourites at venues including Goldsmith College, The Amersham Arms and The Cherryjam. Lineup changes saw Nick move from keyboards to lead singer, ICINI moved to a heavier sound but kept the big riffs and catchy choruses. ICINI went their separate ways and Nick created the guise Dusty Wagon.

Pause The Bells is really the starting point for the pseudo name Dusty Wagon, it was the start of the alt country inspirational phase. Suffering from Bells Palsy whilst writing many of the songs, this album captures the desperation and helplessness at a time of high creativity. And I Was Like is a real mixed bag of guitar/piano ballads to lo-if rock and electronic. Commuters and Carriage is a shift towards Electronic Dance Music, both albums recorded using an iPad Pro and Korg Gadget. 2017 B Sides The C Sides returns to a full spectrum of sounds including alt versions.
