China has a Buddhism religion, that originally came from India. There are about 244 million people who are Buddhism, 18.2% of China's population.

Buddhism has 4 central beliefs; existence is suffering (dukkha), suffering has a cause namely craving and attachment (trishna), reincarnation- the concept that people are reborn after dying and the Four Noble Truth ( Suffering exist, there is a cause for suffering, there is an end to suffering and in order to end suffering) in order to end suffering you must follow the eight-fold path.

China has created the compass, gunpowder and printing.

The development of writing in China was Jiaguwen, this script was etched onto turtle shells and animal bones. Main written language in China is Standard Mandarin, spoken language is Mandarin and Cantonese

Confucianism came from China in 500 B.C.E., the founder of Confucianism was Kong Qiu. Confucianism was a teacher to sons of the nobility at a time when formal education was just beginning in China. Confucius said heaven and the afterlife were beyond human capacity to understand, and one should therefore concentrate instead on doing the right thing in this life.

In China from very early times, the women were capable of loyalty, courage and devotion, but also of intrigue, manipulation and selfishness. Women roles were primarily kinship roles: daughter, sister, wife, daughter-in-law, mother, and mother-in-law. Today, the role of women in China differs across social boundaries. The rapid development of China has shift the tissues faced by women, and many are now beginning to scrutinize their role within society, the economy and politics.

Chinese life can be tied to honoring one's parents or ancestors, they don't believe in individual they aren't allowed to be individual, they believe that family should always stay together.

Women and men have become equal.

Yangtze River supports China's economy with its rich fertile soils and serves as a critical transportation route within China. The nutrient-rich solid, which provides minerals and substance for a variety of crops and produce.

The Yellow River, in particular, was essential to the development of Chinese civilization. The Yellow River symbols Chinese spirit, it has a role on economic development and agriculture.

The Mongols controlled China they first arrived in 1205-1207, however the Mongols didn't take control until the 13th century. It took the Mongols 3 years to take control, they started with small scale raids. The mongols wanted to expand their empire because of silk, tea and other different resources.

The Chinese gain its independence on October 1, 1949, at the time the peoples Republic of China was declared, the Japanese were driven out of parts of the country they occupied. The pivotal figure in China independence was Chaing Kai-Shek, he was born in 1887. U.S. support both as its former war ally and as the sole option for preventing Communist control of China. U.S. forces flew tens of thousands of Nationalist Chinese troops into Japanese-controlled territory and allowed them to accept the Japanese surrender

Current population in China 1,384,992,175. Current GDP of China only second to the US with 11,392.

The current government is communist country run by a single political party.

Xi Jinping is the current leader in China, he was born in 1953, hes general secretary of communist party of China, the president and the chairman of the central military commission

China has now allowed two children per couple, however over time, the gap widened between the number of males and females and, as those children came of age, it led to a situation in which there were fewer females available for marriage.

China has been facing a widespread problem, there have been rapidly aging population. Placing huge strains on working-age people who will have to effectively pay for pensions and healthcare for a disproportionate number of non-working elderly citizens.


India's main religion is Hinduism, there is no founder for Hinduism because it isn't a religion its a culture that flourished. It came from India through cultural changes in country. it was founded in 23-1500 BC., there are 1 billion followers that are Hindu.

The 4 central beliefs; 3 worlds and cycle of creation (Physical, astral and causal), Temples and inner worlds, Hindus believe that divine beings exist in unseen worlds and that temples worship, rituals, sacraments as well as personal devotionals create a communion with these devas and gods, Truth is eternal, truth is one, but the wise express it in a variety of ways and Reincarnation.

Indias historical achievements are buttons, chess, iron works and shampoo.

India's written language are Brahmi and Karosthi. India started off with cave painting that's called Cuneiform, then the Indus Valley script. India's spoken language are Hindi and English.

India's caste system; the brahmin (the priest), Kshathya (warriors and nobility), Vaisya (farmers, traders and artisans), Sudra (tenant farmers and servants) and the untouchables. India believes that people are different and different people will fit into different aspects of society.

Women as a wife are viewed equal to the husband, however back then the women got low education couldn't argues about important topics because they weren't educated.

Family is important to Hindus, an individual is nothing unless s/he is part of a family. The expect an extended family and to always maintain a strong bond with family. They are taught at a young age to always pass down traditions.

Monsoons is a giant gust of wind from the S. west and the N. east in the summer which determines wet and dry seasons receptively. The rainy season lasts from July to September, it slowly starts in June and recedes in October, the rest of the time is dry season. India benefits from this by helping with farming and help with the water system still today.

Britain controlled India, Britain first arrived in the 1600's. Britain first took over in the 18th century. They started colonizing in the early 18th century for trade, then they had enough military so they officially took over India. Britain had India controlled over 300 years, until 1947 they won a war. The main reason India was colonized was for many forms of trade.

India gained its independence on August 15, 1947. India did peaceful sit ins and protest, the British house of commons passed the Indian independence act (Mountbatten Plan) which divided India into two dominions India and Pakistan. Mahatma Gandhi was the pivotal figure to help India gain its Independence, he began a defiant march to the sea in protest of the British Monopoly on salt.

India's population is 1.251 billion people. India is the 3rd on list of worlds biggest GDP.

India has a parliamentary government, Pranab Mukherjee is the leader of India since July 25 2012. He is the commander in chief of the armed forces, he served a 5 year term

The leaders of independent India decided that India will be democratic, socialist and secular country. According to this policy there is a separation between religion and state. Practicing untouchability or discriminating a person based on his caste is legally forbidden. Along with this law the government allows positive discrimination of the depressed classes of India. It has been illegal since the 1950’s.

Women are now allowed to do most of what they want and they really are shaping the country today unlike women in the past and what they were able to do. They are participating in social, economic, and political activities

India has been having a problem with poverty, in 2012 the Indian government stated 22% of their population is below the official poverty limit. That's about 276 million people that are homeless.
